A battle with the works Honda four: at the East
German GP in 1962, Alan Shepherd leads Jim Redman and Mike Hailwood, who also rode an MZ. Shepherd retired with mechanical problems after leading for four laps and Hailwood lost to Jim Redman by only a fifth of a second.
