Lilliputian in the true sense of the word is this 10c.c. Villiers two – stroke model aeroplane engine. The bore is 7/8th inch and the stroke 1 inch. A roller bearing big end is fitted, while the tiny alloy piston has two compression rings. Lubrication is by petroil, and the tank capacity is 2 1/2 ounces.

Although the KTT Velocettes were built in 1951-3, the last year of quanity production was 1950, when 25 were made. Yet in the 1954 TT a total of 17 ohv adn ohc Velocettes started in the 250-500cc classes. E Houdley on a KTT sleved down to 250cc was 8th in the Lightweight race, the years highest finish by a Velocette.

Eric Houseley's highest TT place in the 1954 Lightweight event, riding this Velocette KTT sleeved down to 250cc. Eric finished in 8th at 77.17 mph.

The LCH with its 125cc dohc engine housed in a mini fetherbed-like frame, was on the best home brewed lightweights built in the 1950s. Bearing the intials of its maker L C Harfield, an 8th in 1955 best island result. Len Harfield who went on to become chief scruitneer at the TT, still parades the LCH in the TTRA Lap of Honour.
